Leagues, cups and weekly series in Cairo and Giza 8

Cairo’s tournament calendar is full, and most of it is played at rapid time limits. The Premier League A brings club teams of the capital together over a season, Dokki, the Shooting Club, Ghaba, Petro Sport and Al Ngoom among them, while the Egyptian Chess Federation runs the numbered International Egypt Champions series, whose tenth edition is dated July 2026. Adly Chess Academy holds its international festival in the covered hall of Cairo Stadium in Nasr City, with classical and rapid sections.

In Giza, private series fill the week. Golden Knight ran from April 2025 to August 2026, one of its events given as in front of the Al Bohouth metro station; Golden Nine follows from August 2026 with rapid on Fridays, blitz on Mondays and classical games on Sundays; Nova X held all three time limits between May and July 2026; and the Haram Sigma rapids carry running numbers in their titles. IVY International Schools held a schools championship in November 2025.
