About this list

Teaching is the most visible side of chess in Cairo, and it happens in academies rather than in clubs. Adly Chess Academy, which FIDE lists among its endorsed academies, has its main branch on Mohammed Youssef Moussa Street in Nasr City and teaches in groups, one to one and online, with a free trial class. Its other branches sit inside sporting clubs and centres: The Club in Sheraton, the Zayed Sports Club, the Madinaty Golf Club, the Royal Sporting Club in New Cairo and an education centre in Maadi.

Three of those branches appear only on the academy’s contact page, with no dated event of their own, and so read as unconfirmed. Wadi Degla Chess Academy, also on the FIDE list, is known for its numbered tournaments and a Super League rapid championship in September 2026. Egypt Chess Academy held under-10, under-14 and under-16 events at the Shooting Club in June 2026, and Cairo Chess Academy appears through its CCA Cup and a Thursday event in October 2025.
